“No more monthly POS Software invoices”

POS monthly software licensing fees where POS and Eftpos are integrated is an essential element of the card accepting model.  With the POS being able to integrate to the EFTPOS terminal, the surcharge is auto added.  Therefore being able to have the POS software licensing fees paid by the surcharge placed on the customer continues with the user pays model and allows merchants to virtually become cost neutral in accepting cards in their venue.  For the purposes of clarity the EFTPOS companies rebate BOSSIIs POS costs back to us allowing you to no longer receive software licensing fees directly.  An average saving of around $6000py can be achieved herein

FAQs

Surcharging is now pretty much the norm in most hospitality, professional and many retail businesses.  Customers now do understand and expect to be surcharged even if purchasing a $4 coffee.  But with any change in your business model, a customer education campaign explaining the reasoning, explaining the impacts of the changes to come and the options to customers is imperative to gain their full and satisfactory acceptance of the surcharging.  BOSSII will work with your team to come up with the right campaign which would include notices accompanied with the customer’s bill, notices to be added to your website and information to be added to the footer of your tax invoices.  Showing clear surcharging information is the best route to inform, educate and gain acceptance from your regular clientele.  Once implemented the tax invoice will also include the full amount of the surcharge on a separate line so customers can view the surcharge value independently of the value of the items purchased.

BOSSII can create a discount coupon to the value of your surcharge rate that can be deducted from the final (including surcharge) tax invoice value for those customers that simply will not accept that surcharging is a normal day to day process in most businesses.  There is no point in creating a moment of disagreement with those customers that cannot see the reality of the business landscape therefore for those very few customers out there that may not feel this is applicable it is simply a case of discounting the bill to that value.

The customer education campaign will also stress that any customer that wishes to not have to pay a surcharge can always pay by direct debit (if applicable) or pay via cash as those methods will not attract a surcharge.

  • Ali Pay,
  • WEX,
  • Apple Pay,
  • Google Pay,
  • AMEX,

Any business is eligible however to gain full NO cost neutrality a business with a card turnover of $1m per year at a minimum would see the full benefits of the Pay by BOSSII model

BOSSII will determine this with you with the benefit of knowing the following items:

  • Your monthly card turnover
  • The amount of hardware terminals required
  • Your monthly average transaction value
  • Your current or future POS licence card integration fees
  • Your blend of cards that are currently being accepted

Should you not have all of this information, our team are experienced enough to determine an appropriate rate, that along with you, will cover the full cost of acceptance.  We then monitor this rate over a number of months to determine if the rate is covering your full cost of acceptance.  If it has been set too high then we can reduce that rate and if too low we can increase it as required.

As we do for all BOSSII operations, there are no contracts that force you to remain a customer.  If the merchant requires a new solution it is a matter of simply giving notice to BOSSII and returning the EFTPOS devices to our team.  From there all BOSSII facilities will be terminated as at the set date required.  A signature on a POS contract should never force a customer to remain when they are seeking new opportunities.

If the business turnover drops consistently then we simply sit with each of our clients and work out if an increase in surcharge would cover the full cost of acceptance, a new estimate from BOSSII as to the cost of any shortfall to the business per month of the 4 elements of the hospitality business model or if the Pay by BOSSII model is still the right model for the business.  We don’t have hard or fast rules because unlike our clients we enjoy working with our clients on a personal level to ensure as close as possible a satisfactory solution for all parties involved.

A growth in turnover is what any rational business owner wants so there is no penalty for that ever happening.  Once a year we can assess your costs of card acceptance and make sure that it is still the correct rate that covers these costs as per the RBA allowances.

BOSSII understands what settlement of funds means to you and so we offer (Net) Next Day Funding.  Next Day Funding is available if you settle before the official cut-off time of day the funding will be transferred to your bank account on the next business day. Otherwise, the funding will be available after 2 business days. If the funding day falls on a weekend, a New South Wales public holiday or a bank holiday, the funding will be available the next business day.

All settlements can be sent to any Australian registered business bank account that you choose to settle to.  There is no need to open a new bank account for settlements.

With any new EFTPOS application, a merchant will be legally required to undergo a KYC/AML application.  As scary as this sounds, it actually isn’t.  Australian legislation recently requires anybody offering financial banking facilities to assess the person/entity that is requesting the facility.  KYC/AML just means "Know Your Client / Anti Money Laundering" which just requires an assessment by the company offering financial services to the company requesting financial services.  Our Eftpos partners assess the KYC/AML part of the application with BOSSII filling out all of the initial paperwork to commence the application.   You don’t need to do anything yourself, we take care of it all.

The application, once given all the information that is required, take up to 5 business days to be approved but can often be sooner than that.

From the point where an applicant is informed that the application is approved, the terminals will be couriered out within 5-10 business days.

There are items that our EFTPOS partner company will require to asses a successful application.  These include:

  • The ABN of your trading entity
  • An image snip of your bank account statement showing BSB, ACC Name, ACC Number – there are to be strictly no balances or transactions visible – this is required only to show evidence of the account that funds will be deposited to.  Merchants can black out any transactions or balances if that’s easier.  The statement will need to show the date on it and cannot be more than 90 days old.
  • Who are the beneficial owner(s) of the trading entity
  • Will need pictures of front and back of drivers licence for each beneficial owner
  • If there is a Trust in play, then a signed copy of the trust deed will be required
  • What is the Registered Legal Address for trading entity

Should you accept any of the following, we will need your Amex merchant number, Apple Pay merchant number, Google Pay merchant number and/or any other merchant numbers for payments accepted

There are no initial setup fees included for the Pay by BOSSII facility.  There are however lost, damaged or not returned terminal fees that will be detailed in your application

Your upfront hardware costs will apply however for things such as Printers, iPads, POS terminals and modems amongst other items.
